Smitten Sorensens bio picture

Welcome to our blog!

Nick and Natalie Sorensen here. Thanks for visiting.

We have been married now for a year and half. We are LOVING married life with our two babies, Vixen and Maverick our Weimaraners. We love to travel and see the world together.

Photography is a hobby that I has recently began. It is a great record of our lives together with a very creative outlet for me.  I own a salon Kadiza Hair Studio in Lubbock, and Nick has www.hcgmarket.com and many other things to list going on.  We love to be busy!

I try to post a few times a week so make sure and bookmark this site or put www.smittensorensens.com/feed/ on your reader. Come back as often as you like. Comments are pretty much the coolest, so don't be a blog stalker and not say hi!

All done

Oh man what a weekend. Not fun whatsoever!!! Drama the whole way.

Nick gets home wednesday night late. So we had one day to pack really. I had done some but not as much as I should.

Thurs morning we had a dr’s appt and didn’t get through till about 11:30, so we didn’t have much time left in the day. We did all that we could, but knew we wouldn’t be ready to load up. Nick called movers and set them up to load at 6am and be out with plenty of time to be at 9:00 closing. He stayed up all night and woke me at 5 to help finish. Six comes, no one shows up. No call or anything. We called and the phone had been disconnected.

It worked out we got some other movers there finally. The people who bought it were really nice and understanding.

We had to rent another trailer to fit it all. My guess was my shoes and Nicks sporting and hunting goods store.

He made it to Dallas though. He hires some poor college kids to help him. I think that worked out really well!

Dr visit tomm. I will post pics of little angel!

Wish us luck…

Packing and moving stinks the big one! I don’t see how people do it often.. I HATE IT….

I don’t feel like I am a pack rat AT ALL! Usually I throw away all kinds of things I actually need… I STILL feel like we have a TON of stuff!!!!

It’s bittersweet… I am excited about this new chapter in LIFE we are about to start, but on the other hand leaving Mine and Nick’s first home already is kinda sad! We have had great times here… LEARNED alot about one another, and started out family here!

We have to be totally out tonight and have TONS and TONS to do… I better run!

Wish us luck!!!!

Jamie - Natalie, I completely know how you feel. Shawn and I have moved about 6 times in 3 years! ugh! Luckily we had people come and pack us each time. I can only imagine how horrible it would be to do that while pregnant. I'll be thinking about you and good luck!!February 25, 2010 - 2:36 PM

melanie - Good Luck. It totally is painful, I'm sorry.February 25, 2010 - 3:20 PM

Ask a Favor.

I have a sweet friend that I have grown up who was diagnosed with cervical cancer a few months ago…. She needs LOTS AND LOTS OF sweet prayers lifted up on her behalf!!! She is 26 and has a 6 yr. old daughter

She is at MD Anderson right now… She so badly wants to come home so she can be with all her family and friends at this time…

CASEY NEEDS A MIRACLE, and we ALL know who is THE BEST AT THOSE!

IT WOULD MEAN THE WORLD TO ME IF YOU WOULD HELP JUST MY KEEPING HER IN YOUR PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS…

If you would like to follow her progress and updates go to www.carepages.com/carepages/caseyshakespeare

Full Update.

Here is our new house… Don’t really like the door and the yard needs some TLC… that’s what you get with a FORECLOSURE! The inside is great though, hardly needs anything at all but paint. Which we have someone lined up for as soon as we close. I am trying to pick all the colors after seeing it twice.. really hard! I will like whatever I choose I’m sure.

We got a great deal on the house which thrills us of course, and it’s as big as we will EVER need. I am worried about cleaning all of this, because I am use to something much SMALLER. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a study, media room, and loft/gameroom. We are trying to collect more furniture just to furnish everything!

Ahh lost of space…  I am excited about all my new hats I get to wear… Mother, Cleaning Lady, Full Time Chef, Dog trainer, Gardener, and owning a business from afar… It will be a new challenge! I am up for it.

We aren’t sure on a closing date yet, but we are getting closer. Our house here closes in a WEEK. I must pack ALL day today! We have so much to do in little time. I have to sort out what I will need for the next few 4 months or so, and all the baby stuff I will need for the first few days. I am taking that to my Grandmothers who so graciously offered to let me stay there as long as I needed to. SHe had moved to Raider RANCH, and I think will be really happy there, but also happy to know someone will be at her house for a while. It works out for the both of us! Nick will be flying back and fourth getting all of our stuff ready there, and coming home to see us too. I will be excited when long distance is truly over. It is really hard somedays.

As for the BABY… Doing good I feel like she is growing.

This was this morning, I am five months in a couple days I THINK…

I have been really hungry and could sleep forever it feels like. After standing all day I can crash by 8:30pm if I wanted to.

Haven’t felt movement but a couple of more times. She must be a sleeper. She can hear my voice now, that is pretty cool! I have to hold my tongue now!!!

Most of all I have been feeling really good!

Nick Sorensen - You forgot the most important hat.February 18, 2010 - 7:35 PM

Valentine’s Day

Our ward conference was today on Valentine’s day. It was AMAZING.

What better way to spend this special Holiday than learning more about how Heavenly Father loves us, he cares deeply for us, and he has a purpose and Specific plan for our lives. The meeting was moving. Our new Stake presidency is PHENOMENAL. They are so inspired by the Lord. He has placed them there to do a great work. They have already announced that they are going to split the wards and start 2 new ones in the next few weeks. I am excited for the changes even though we won’t be here that long… The Lord is doing a great work here in the Lubbock Stake. So many new members and many more that are coming! Very exciting. I  am glad to be here at this moment, and be lead by these amazing men called by God!

Nick and I had a sweet night together. Lots of snuggling and Olympics watching. We made chili, and just chilled out! Lovely!

Tomm we have to kick it into gear and start packing up everything we have a little over a week and I am not sure how much Nick gets to be here for that!

I have been searching for paint colors because our whole NEW house needs to be painted.  I love COLOR, if you remember our bedroom Bright Sea Turquoise. Each room will be something as equally fantastic! I am excited to see it.

Most wonderful BDAY

SO it seems as though I have wanted to be 24 my whole life… I twas always my LUCKY number. When I would play make believe I would tell all my friends I was 24.

I always knew when I was 24 BIG GREAT THINGS WERE GOING TO HAPPEN…

I told this to Nick when we started Dating and he always told me We are going to get married when your 24.

I ALWAYS assured him that wouldn’t be the BIG thing to happen. (dating for 3-4 years long distance… I DONT THINK SO)

So here I was on my 24th Birthday expecting to really feel like I had ARRIVED… Something to change over night! I was THE magical number! I didn’t feel it so much even though it was a PERFECT DAY!

No snow (which it always does)

Nick gave me a giftcard to get an IPad for when they come out with the 3G ones ( all I wanted)

When to Ihop for pancakes with the family (always a tradition)

Had a busy day at work, but it made it better to hear my phone chime every few min of all my great friends wishing me a happy one!

One of my clients brought me cupcakes from the BEST place ever

Got a gift certificate to a great maternity boutique from all the girls at work

Went to Dinner at my favorite steak restaurant

Came home and snuggled and crashed…

TWO great things a failed to mention that made the day the perfect 24th

I felt the baby move for the first time

and they accepted the offer on the house in DALLAS we are not homeless anymore!!! YIPPEEEE
